Drydocks World to fabricate components for the Johan Sverdrup Riser Platform Jacket

Drydocks World the international service provider to the shipping, offshore, oil, gas and energy sectors has been awarded the contract from Kvaerner to carry out the fabrication of components on the Johan Sverdrup Riser Platform Jacket for end-user Statoil, to be located in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea.

Kvaerner won contract from Statoil in January and Drydocks World will carry out the fabrication of pile clusters and floatation tanks including surface protection for the Johan Sverdrup Riser platform jacket. The pile clusters will form the base of the jacket where the structure is piled to the seabed, and the tanks will be used for launching and installation of the jackets on site. Drydocks World will be fabricating to the stringent NORSOK safety and quality standards, with our strong project management and construction team carrying out the over 7,000 ton project.

Drydocks World looks forward to working with Kvaerner, having previously completed two substructures for semi-submersible drilling rigs Aker Alpha and Aker Beta. Currently Drydocks World is also fabricating a 2,000 ton jacket and wellhead platform for the Technip Rashid C Platform. Drydocks World has qualified expertise in fabricating high tolerance offshore structures, demonstrating the organizations capabilities in delivering complete offshore projects complying with strict safety, environmental and quality standards. In building the worlds largest Turret mooring system, Drydocks World has delivered 4 modules.
