Drydocks World, the leading marine, onshore & offshore service provider to the oil, gas and renewable energy sectors has won the “Shipyard/Ship Repair yard of the Year” at the fourth annual “The Maritime Standard Awards,” held on Monday 23rd October 2017 at the iconic Atlantis Ballroom on The Palm.

The award was presented to the Drydocks World for newbuilding, repair and conversion projects that have clearly outperformed rivals in the region.

Drydocks World Dubai is the largest and most comprehensive shipyard offering ship repair, upgradation of rigs and offshore units, conversion of FPSO/FSO/FSRU and new building of Vessels and Offshore Structures, between Europe and the Far East.

Drydocks World has completed 83 New Building and Offshore Fabrication projects and five projects are currently being executed. The yard has also completed 31 Conversion projects and has repaired more than 8,402 ship repair projects. Further, the yard has a well-established reputation in the rig repair, refit and refurbishment segment, with extensive experience on drilling and jack-up units. As a part of its transformation, the yard has introduced a Rig Refurbishment department to facilitate the major rig operators, that closely works with the customers to understand their requirements and provide the best services.

Attaining this award builds on Drydocks World’s reputation for excellence, having already achieved many notable awards in 2016 such as:  Seatrade Maritime Global Award for CSR, ShipTek Maritime Award for Best Ship Repair Yard, Seatrade Middle East Award for Safety and Quality, The Maritime Standard Awards for Shipyard/ Ship Repair Facility of the Year, Lloyd’s List Middle East Awards for Offshore & Energy and Shell HSSE Contractors award for Most Noteworthy Effort.
