Drydocks World the leading provider of maritime and offshore services to the shipping, oil, gas and energy sectors celebrated World Health and Safety Day with an award ceremony to recognize health and safety achievements throughout the organization. At Drydocks World the highest priority is accorded to the principle of prevention, with the organization promoting a culture of zero harm to prioritize the integrity of our workforce, assets and the environment. Drydocks World’s comprehensive services and innovative offshore project management methodology maintain health and safety mandates as a core commitment to our employees, clients and the community.

On the 12^th anniversary of World Health and Safety Day, Drydocks World awarded various departments and subcontractors for their commitment to workplace safety and health. Winners were selected="true" based on HSE performance and highest man-hours worked for year 2014. The Pipe, Mobile Plant and Marine departments won for the Best HSE performance, with the Shell Prelude FLNG Turret project winning for Best New Building Project. The award for Best Rig Project went to the project teams working on the National Drilling Company’s rigs Al Ghweifat and Al Ghallan, as well as to the project team working on rig COSL Superior for COSL Drilling. The Best Ship Repair Project was awarded the teams working on vessels Semac 1, Abbay Wonz and D’Artagnan for clients Dredging International, Ethiopian Shipping, and Semac. The Best HSE Performance by a Subcontractor was awarded to Shipcare, Green Ocean and DCL. In total, Drydocks World achieved an impressive 14 million LTI free man hours across the organization during 2014. This reflects Drydocks World’s dedication to maintaining stringent health and safety standards throughout the company, with these awards recognizing and motivating the project teams to continue striving towards the highest levels of excellence.

At the center of business operations is the goal of zero harm, with the organization setting OHSE objectives and targets as a measure of the overall success of the company and to monitor our continual improvement. Currently Drydocks World & Maritime World Management Systems are certified to ISO 3834-2:2005,  ISO 9001:2008, API Specification Q1, EMS ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 and ASME certification of authorization. Drydocks World had 14 audits successfully completed starting from the year 2012 to the year 2014 covering HSEQ by our global clients. Drydocks World has been awarded with the “Sword of Honour” by the British Safety Council on 10 occasions and has been rated as a Five Star facility by the British Safety Council for the last 11 years. Throughout the company our policies aim to exceed health and safety standards to ensure employees and clients are part our continued focus and journey towards zero harm.
