The Pipe Department employs a highly skilled workforce and is well developed to work according to different onshore and offshore work specifications including testing and commissioning piping systems.

The shop addresses the needs for ship repair and conversion projects and the New Building facility has a dedicated team to address its pipe requirements.

The Pipe Shop is equipped with modern CNC profile cutting, CNC pipe bending machines and a number of GTAW/SAW welding equipment, an auto SAW welding station that has the latest welding technology, the Orbital Tig (GTAW) and Plasma Automatic Welding (PAW) station. Portable Tritool equipment is also used in the shop and in situ to sever, cut and bevel pipes and reface flanges up to the largest diameters possible on board vessels.

The materials used for piping are Carbon Steel (ASTM A53 Gr. A/B, A106 Gr. A/B, API 5L Gr. A/B & API 5LX Gr. X52/X65), high temperature steel (ASTM A335), low temperature steel (ASTM A333 Gr.6) through non-ferrous materials such as Cuni 90/10, Copper, Aluminum, Brass, Stainless Steel (304L, 316L), Duplex Stainless Steel, Super Duplex Stainless Steel, Fiberglass (GRE) and Titanium.

The Department holds more than 30 Class approved Welding Procedures endorsed by International Classification Societies such as Lloyds Register, ABS and Det Norsk Veritas.
