Dubai-based global provider of maritime services wins the awards for ‘Ship Repair Yard of the Year’ and ‘Best HSE Initiative’
Drydocks World, a leading global provider of maritime solutions, has achieved double recognition at the ShipTek Awards 2024, clinching the award for 'Ship Repair Yard of the Year' and 'Best HSE Initiative'. The awards cement Drydocks World's status as an international industry leader and innovator in maritime services and HSE practices.
The Drydocks World team, represented by Capt. Rado Antolovic, PhD, CEO, Shrirang Kolaskar, Senior Vice President - Finance, Saleh Albalushi, Vice President - of HSE, and Mahfoodha Makki, Senior Manager - Talent Development & Performance Management, received the awards at the ceremony held at JW Marriott Marina, Dubai.
The 'Ship Repair Yard of the Year' award was a result of Drydocks World's exceptional achievements throughout 2023. The company successfully managed the complex task of docking six vessels simultaneously in one graving dock, marking a historical achievement in efficiency and space optimisation. The installation of 275 Ballast Water Treatment Systems (BWTS) projects also showed the company's technical prowess and commitment to environmental sustainability in maritime operations. Furthermore, the conversion of two LNG vessels in record time and the extensive refurbishment of FPSO Firenze, which achieved six million LTI (lost time injury) free man-hours, demonstrated Drydocks World's dedication to safety and quality in maritime engineering.
The 'Best HSE Initiative' award recognises Drydocks World's groundbreaking approach to educating employees on Health, Safety, and Environment. Drydocks World has revolutionised training and safety practices by implementing cutting-edge technologies such as Virtual Reality Training, Artificial Intelligence, E-Learning, Nuggets Learning, and Mobile Learning.
