Drydocks World and Maritime World leads the way in CSR

Drydocks World and Maritime World, the international service provider to the shipping, maritime, offshore, oil, gas and energy sectors, has been involved in various Corporate Social Responsibility activities and is proud to be a responsible and sustainable business. Drydocks World has a well established CSR policy coupled with an annual plan which serves as a guide towards its CSR objectives and the various activities geared towards contributions to key areas encompassing workplace, marketplace, community and environment.

 

The Group has been recognized for its CSR initiatives and practices when it was awarded the CSR Label 2014 by Dubai Chamber. The aim of the Dubai Chamber CSR Label program is to strive towards developing a more responsible and sustainable business community in Dubai and Drydocks World & Maritime World is proud to contribute to these positive efforts. The CSR Label program provides a free diagnostic framework including offsite and onsite audit by Dubai Chamber that assists an organization to assess its current CSR contribution and to decide how it can further improve to be a CSR leader in its industry. For its responsibilities and social roles, it has provided a financial contribution worth two million five hundred thousand UAE dirhams, in support of the campaign, "UAE Water Aid" launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, starting from the first day of the Holy month of Ramadan, to provide safe drinking water to five million people in various places around the world.     

 

Drydocks World in collaboration with National Drilling Company also won the ADNOC HSE Award for-“LED Lights-The Greenest and Safest Confined Space Lighting”. The company has several times won the British Safety Council’s prestigious Sword of Honor recognizes the commitment to a safe work environment through the maintenance of exemplary safety and employee welfare records. Furthermore, Drydocks World and Maritime World’s group has won the award of «Socrates Award 2014» for the Best International Enterprise, from Europe Business Assembly, in recognition of the record of its acclaimed superiority and excellence, as well as excellence efficiency and effectiveness in the administration, and its success in achieving sustained growth in various areas of its business.

The group provides and promotes a healthy and safe working environment to all the stakeholders and constantly undertakes occupational health initiatives such as those involving Imperial College of London for “WELSHIP” research. The organization also undertakes other socially responsible activities such as material recycling activities, energy conservation initiatives, use of eco-friendly chemicals in production, charitable donations, staff welfare, protecting and conserving biodiversity and encouraging social responsibility by its employees. The company supports the maritime sector by collaborating to build environmentally friendly ground breaking projects for its international clients such as DolWin Beta-the world’s largest HVDC platform, Seismic Survey Vessels, Modular Capture Vessels and LNG powered vessels.
